COMMUNITY PROJECT

The Crafter's Corner offers free weekly ceramics classes to women from the surrounding farm communities. Our project enables them to explore and deepen their creative skills in a safe and open-minded setting. Some women also bring their children or grandchildren along who enjoy playing and experimenting with clay.

We also engage with outlets so that the women can generate an additional income stream for themselves with their handmade ceramics. For example, we make ceramics which are available at the CoCreate Hub in central Stellenbosch.

The Crafter's Corner also participates frequently in workshop series hosted by the Living Arts Foundation which offer a diverse program of creative and mindful exercises to different age groups within the community (e.g. personal growth focused workshops, holiday programs for school kids, teacher workshops, etc.).
